In a world where gender stereotypes may still constrain individual ambitions, this event was a firm response to promote gender equality and female talent, recognized as an expression of the boundless potential of every woman.

The “Proud to be a Woman” contest, organized by the Union Committee of UTM Employees, serves as both a competition and a celebration of diversity, highlighting the contribution of every woman to societal progress. The Rector of UTM, Professor Viorel Bostan, expresses appreciation for the efforts of the organizing team behind this remarkable contest, which reflects the active and responsible collaboration between the university management and the UTM Employee’s Union Committee—an essential element in ensuring a healthy, fair, and motivating work environment for all members of the UTM academic community.

With zeal and inspiration, the 15 teams representing the Union Offices of the UC embodied femininity as a powerful force, gender equality as a fundamental ideal, and female talent as a cornerstone of excellence and innovation.

This year’s edition brought surprises: In support of women within the teams, one of the challenges encouraged the participation of male union members.

Reflecting the diverse range of abilities and passions among participants, the challenges featured in the 2024 edition were both varied and engaging.

The first challenge, “Preparation of Cabbage Rolls”, tested the culinary skills and ingenuity of the contestants in the kitchen. Challenge number 2, “Mărțișor Crafting”, showcased the artistic talent of the competitors, while challenge number 3, “Innovative Greeting Card for Women”, offered an avenue to display virtuosity and theatrical abilities.
