The Technical University of Moldova, represented by Rector Viorel BOSTAN, and the Non-Governmental Organization “Renașterea Rurală,” represented by Executive Director Vladimir URSU, have signed a collaboration agreement for air quality monitoring. The main objective of this agreement is to install an outdoor air quality monitoring sensor at UTM.
This sensor will provide real-time data on pollution levels, including PM2.5 and PM10 suspended particles, as well as other important parameters such as temperature, atmospheric pressure, and humidity. With the collected information readily available to the general public, citizens can make informed decisions to safeguard their health based on the air quality in their surroundings.

The collaboration will also focus on improving the knowledge of UTM students and pupils regarding air quality and pollution sources. Through educational and awareness programs, the aim is to create a more environmentally conscious generation.
This partnership represents an innovative step forward, offering promising benefits for the community. By joining forces, UTM and the Renașterea Rurală Association aspire to not only protect the environment but also promote a healthier future for everyone involved.
For UTM, this agreement holds significant value:
· It contributes to enhancing air quality within the community: data collected by the sensor will be used to identify sources of pollution and implement effective emission reduction strategies;
· It raises awareness about air quality concerns: publicly accessible information will enable citizens to be informed about the risks associated with air pollution and take protective measures;
· It provides opportunities for education and research: UTM students will be able to participate in education and research programs related to air quality;
· It reinforces UTM’s reputation as a socially responsible institution: by participating in this initiative, UTM demonstrates its commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment.
