Celebrating Excellence in Education and Research: UTM Senate Names the 2025 Laureates

The Technical University of Moldova celebrated academic and scientific achievement during an official ceremony organized by the University Senate. The event marked the public recognition of outstanding results achieved by students, researchers, and faculty members in the 2024–2025 academic year and the 2025 calendar year.

The awards were granted based on rigorous evaluations conducted by the Commission for Honorary Titles, highlighting an academic community committed to innovation and international standards.

UTM continues to cultivate top talent among young people, awarding students from all levels of study and shaping the next generation of technical leaders.

Excellence in Research Through Figures and Vision

Awarded the First Prize in the “Research and Innovation” category, conf. univ., dr. Dinu Țurcanu, prorector for Digitalization, offered insight into the effort behind the achievement, noting that the recognition reflects an intense year of activity in 2025: 23 Web of Science articles (7 in Q1, 9 in Q2), 140 Scopus citations, and international innovation awards (Gold Medal and Special Award – Croatian Inventors Network).

“This distinction reflects a collective team effort together with colleagues from FET, Cybercor, and international partners. Research performance is essential for UTM’s positioning in international rankings, for increasing academic visibility, and for attracting competitive funding.”

Publications in impact-factor journals and participation in indexed conferences contribute directly to institutional reputation and foster long-term partnerships with academic and industrial stakeholders. Through these distinctions, the Technical University of Moldova reaffirms its role as a central pillar in the development of a knowledge-based society, consistently investing in human capital and international collaborations that strengthen the university’s position in the European academic sphere.
