The Technical University of Moldova proves that passion for science and meaningful collaboration yield outstanding results. In the competition “Complex Bilateral Projects with the Republic of Moldova,” launched in September 2024, UTM researchers secured funding for 19 out of the 62 projects selected—strengthening the academic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
The certificates confirming these successes were awarded during the 2nd edition of the Researchers’ Forum, titled “Stronger Together in the European Research Area,” held in Chișinău. Presenting the awards were the Ministers of Education and Research from Moldova, Dan Perciun, and from Romania, Daniel Ovidiu David.

The 19 funded UTM projects span four major research domains—digitalization; climate and energy; bioeconomy and agriculture; and health—showcasing the university’s scientific diversity and the real-world impact of its research activities.
Breakdown of the projects by domain:
Digitalization, Industry & Space:
- Andrei PETCO: Innovative centrifugal pump design for space applications
- Lilia SAVA: Virtual lab for open data and open science
- Victoria BOBICEV: Automated detection of AI-generated texts in Moldova and Romania
