MEDIA Project Advances: Progress and Strategic Directions Set at the Management Meeting in Yerevan

Between April 7 and 12, 2025, the partners of the MEDIA project took part in the fourth management meeting, held at Brusov State University (BSU) in Yerevan, Armenia. The main goal of the event was to monitor the project’s progress, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration among higher education institutions from Armenia, the Republic of Moldova, and the European Union. The agenda included working sessions focused on key project activities—ranging from dissemination and sustainability to assessing progress in developing micro-credential programs and reinforcing MEDIA labs within partner universities.

The Technical University of Moldova was represented at the meeting by institutional coordinators Rina Țurcan and Ala Oberst, who presented UTM’s achievements within the project’s work packages. A special highlight was the launch of UTM’s MEDIA Lab, developed under the project. The presentation, supported by video and photo materials, emphasized the significance of this event for advancing the university’s digital capabilities. UTM also reported on the development of digital courses and institutional documents regulating online education. Additionally, the university outlined its progress in implementing the dissemination plan, underscoring its strong commitment to transparency and effective communication.

A key element of the agenda was a series of thematic workshops covering topics such as augmented reality in interactive learning, cybersecurity in online education, and the development of interactive teaching materials. Study visits to the Media Initiatives Center and to MEDIA labs at local universities gave participants a hands-on view of how digital technologies are being integrated into online course delivery.

The event stood out for its open dialogue among partners, interim evaluations, and a clear focus on sustainability and expanding the project’s impact. During the meeting, the 2025 activity plan was approved, along with timelines for reporting on each partner’s contributions. These decisions aim to strengthen the project’s monitoring framework and ensure effective implementation of its goals.

We extend our sincere thanks to our Armenian partners for their excellent organization and warm hospitality.

The MEDIA project aims to support structural reforms in Armenia and Moldova (R2) by proposing solutions to issues in their national higher education systems at both institutional and individual levels. It takes an integrated approach to various layers of education, with activities focused on training and upskilling relevant staff to improve the quality of online education in these countries. The project also seeks to create a regulatory framework for synchronous and asynchronous online learning, build capacity for learning analytics in online teaching, and implement multidisciplinary non-formal education tools in the field of digital media.

The MEDIA project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program.
