At the beginning of April, the Technical University of Moldova hosted a strategic visit from international partners involved in the development of digital education and youth professional skills.
On April 1, 2025, UTM welcomed Arek Jaworski, Regional Director (Certiport) for DACH, Nordics, CEEE & CIS, accompanied by strategic partners from Romania, Gabriela Ford and Laurențiu Bunescu, representatives of Certipro Education, an institution promoting international certifications among students in the region.
The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Dinu Țurcanu, Vice-Rector for Digitalization, and Dr. Ludmila Peca, Director of the National Institute for Cybersecurity Innovation CYBERCOR.

Discussions focused on strengthening the activity of the Certiport and Pearson VUE Centers at UTM, internationally accredited hubs of educational excellence that offer students and professionals the opportunity to take globally recognized certification exams. Through the Certiport Certification Center, candidates can acquire internationally validated digital skills in key areas such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, IT Specialist, Project Management, Networking Fundamentals, and more—certifications that add real value to building a successful career and are highly sought after by employers worldwide.
The discussions also reviewed best practices implemented at the center, with Certiport representatives praising the high level of professionalism of the administrative team and the strict security measures fully aligned with international standards for conducting certification exams.
A key topic was the initiative by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, allowing candidates who pass international IT certification exams, according to Order No. 1326/2023, to receive an automatic grade of “10” in the national baccalaureate exam for computer science. This policy offers students a concrete incentive to enhance their digital skills through access to globally recognized learning and certification resources.

Another important subject was UTM’s participation in the Microsoft Office World Championship and the Adobe World Championship. For the first time in 2025, UTM will field its own team of students. Discussions covered registration details, examination procedures, and candidate selection processes.
The CERTIPORT and Certipro Education delegation also visited UTM’s Certiport Center, where they spoke directly with the technical team about workflow, systems used for registration and exam administration, and the digital infrastructure ensuring the integrity of the certification process.

The visit continued at CYBERCOR, where training sessions are held for students preparing for certification exams. Ludmila Peca showcased the center’s modern facilities and ongoing training programs, highlighting the role of CYBERCOR instructors in preparing candidates aiming for the top grade in the baccalaureate through internationally recognized certifications.
This visit reconfirms the Technical University of Moldova’s position as a regional leader in promoting digital competencies and as an active partner in global professional certification initiatives. Through collaboration with Certiport and Certipro Education, UTM is opening new horizons for young people in Moldova, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth based on international standards of excellence and national recognition that directly benefits students, including in their final exams.
