The professors of FCGC, FUA and FIEB of UTM visit the College of Construction in Hâncești

The professors of the UTM Faculties of Constructions, Geodesy and Cadastre (FCGC); Architecture and Urban Planning (FUA); and Economic Engineering and Business (FIEB) paid a visit to the College of Construction in Hâncești, in order to initiate a dialogue with the graduating students of the “Construction and Operation of Buildings and Edifices”, “Cadastre and Territory Organization”, “Real Estate Valuation”, “Heat and Gas Supply Systems, Ventilation”, and “Accounting” study programmes, as well as those who intend to take the Baccalaureate exams.

         The head of the “Industrial and Civil Constructions” study programme, Univ. Lect., Dr. Ion CREȚU, presented a brief history of the Faculty of Constructions, Geodesy and Cadastre of the Technical University of Moldova. Mr. Crețu also referred to the structure of the Faculty, the technical equipment and resources, the accommodation conditions for students, the relations that the FCGC has on a national and international level, and more.

         The presentation included more details about the opportunity for UTM students to study in a university abroad for a semester or a year, as part of the ERASMUS+ mobility programs, where participants receive a European scholarship and seize the chance to gain new experiences.

         The importance of the relationship between education, research and the social-economic environment was also discussed, including the meetings organized with different companies in the field, the assistance offered by the representatives of the business environment during the development and defense of Bachelor’s projects, and the role of the respective representatives as specialists in the field, as well as potential employers.

         Taking advantage of the occasion, Mr. Crețu donated 5 brochures and a guide – “Management of Natural Hazards – results of the HAZARM cross-border project”, carried out by FCGC and FUA from 2020-2022, to the library of the College of Construction in Hâncești.

         Mr. Crețu provided a succinct description of the study programmes of FCGC, highlighting the “Industrial and Civil Constructions” and “Geodetic Engineering and Cadastre” study programmes. The presentation was continued by the Univ. Lect. Maria-Liliana MARIAN, who spoke about the “Engineering and Construction Management” and “Real Estate Valuation and Development” study programmes. Mrs. Marian also mentioned the possibility of taking advantage of the 30 ECTS (transferable credits) for the exemption of students from equivalent courses, in case they choose to continue their education at UTM.

         Assoc. Prof., Dr. Ion ROTARU presented the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning and its study programmes, followed up by Univ. Lect., Dr. Tatiana ȚAPU, who presented the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, as well as the benefits of choosing this faculty for the graduating students of the “Accounting” study programme.

         Lastly, the UTM teachers thanked the director Alexandru MEGHEREA for the good organization of the event, and the students – for the attention and interest.
