A new CEEPUS network has started its activities within the Faculty of Food Technology

Between September 14-30, 2019, the first mobilities took place within the CEEPUS CIII-HR-1404-01-1920 network “Adriatic-Pannonian-Black Sea Food Connect”, a project won by the Faculty of Food Technology for the period 2019-2020.

Marko Jukic and Jasmina Lukinac of “Josip Juraj Srossmayer” University in Osijek, Croatia, were the first to receive a mobility internship within the newly created network, being on a two-week documentation visit. The internship had several objectives, such as presenting the educational offer of “Josip Juraj Srossmayer” University of Osijek and identifying areas of common interest for future collaborations, study visits in laboratories and familiarization with the research programs of UTM, meetings with the administrative staff of UTM and of the Faculty of Food Technology, identifying mobility opportunities for students from the “Josip Juraj Srossmayer” University of Osijek and from UTM.

During the meeting with dr. Larisa Bugaian, vice-rector on Financial Issues and International Relations, they examined the possibility of signing an academic cooperation agreement and an Erasmus+ KA 107 inter-institutional agreement between “Josip Juraj Srossmayer” University in Osijek, Croatia and the Technical University of Moldova, the possibility of collaboration within educational and research projects, but also capitalization on other opportunities for international collaboration.

The teachers in mobility at the Faculty of Food Technology, together with the dean of the FTA, associate professor, dr. Vladislav Reșitca, and the coordinator of the CEEPUS network, associate professor, dr. Cristina Popovici, visited the faculty laboratories within the Center of Excellence in the field. Research in Oenology, the Center for Practical Training and Continuous Education in the field of Food Service, the Research Center in the field of preserving horticultural products and the Scientific Center for Training and Technological Transfer in the Food Industry.

In the last days of mobility, they visited the company “Franzeluţa” S.A. – the largest bakery on the domestic market. The teachers were aware of the process of manufacturing a wide range of confectionery products (sweet cakes, biscuits, cookies), waffles, pastries and pasta.

At the end of the visit, Marko Jukic and Jasmina Lukinac expressed their hope of intensifying the collaboration between UTM and UJJSO.
