European shooting champion Anna DULCE is aiming for her goals both literally and figuratively. With an impressive track record in sports, the recent graduate of Natalia Gheorghiu Theoretical High School in Chișinău has announced her intention to apply for the 2024 admissions at the Technical University of Moldova.
Anna is the first athlete from the Republic of Moldova to have recently triumphed at the European Shooting Championship, where she won the gold medal in the 10-meter air pistol event and secured a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is the eighth athlete from the Republic of Moldova to secure a spot at this summer’s Olympics (July 26 – August 11). On July 16, 2024, along with 25 other athletes who will represent Moldova at the Paris Olympics, Anna had the honor of meeting with President Maia SANDU, who presented them with the national flag to carry to the Olympics.
This will be Anna’s second participation in the Olympics, following her experience in 2021 when she was just 15 years old and placed 48th in Tokyo.
Olympic silver medalist Oleg Moldovan, who has competed in four editions of the Olympic Games and won a silver medal in Sydney in 2000, is proud of his protégé. He says that Anna’s qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics highlights not only her talent and skill but also her dedication and perseverance. Anna earned her spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics by setting a new national record at the World Cup in Spain – 580 points out of a possible 600, placing fourth, and winning a bronze medal at the H&N Cup international tournament in Munich. Additionally, Anna has two bronze medals from the 2022 Junior World Cup & Junior European Championship, as well as multiple victories in various international tournaments.
With an extremely busy summer ahead, marked by her participation in the Paris Olympics, Anna explored the possibility of submitting her application online for admission to UTM. This allowed her to successfully balance her athletic and academic goals.
Anna aims to pursue the “Public Nutrition Services” program within the Faculty of Food Technology. Her choice is fueled not only by a passion for sweets but also by a strong desire to help people make informed dietary choices. Recognizing the significance of a balanced diet, Anna has learned that occasional indulgences are not an issue as long as they are balanced with healthy long-term eating habits. This philosophy will guide her in her career as a nutritionist, assisting people in finding the right balance between taste and health. Anna dreams of becoming a respected nutritionist who inspires and guides individuals towards a healthy lifestyle. She plans to utilize the knowledge gained at the Technical University of Moldova to create personalized dietary programs for athletes, offer individualized nutritional advice, and educate the public on the importance of a balanced diet.
