The main objective of the event was to share and discuss the European Union’s contributions that have significantly impacted the development of human capital and the education sector in Moldova. The event showcased important achievements, analyzed the challenges faced by the education sector, and explored both current and future synergies between various EU initiatives. The event was divided into three main sections, each focusing on different aspects of EU support for education in Moldova. The first section highlighted the EU’s support for education and skills development in Moldova through projects and programs implemented by the EU Delegation and its partners. These initiatives aim to strengthen education and develop a skills framework tailored to the labor market’s needs in Moldova and the broader region.

The second section focused on the Rapid Education Diagnostic Report (RED) conducted by ETF, which provides a detailed analysis of Moldova’s education sector. Findings and preliminary recommendations were presented, aimed at shaping more effective policies and solutions to support educational reforms in this crucial sector.

The final section of the event was dedicated to showcasing thematic support for education in Moldova through the Erasmus+ Program, a flagship EU initiative that promotes educational mobility and skill development. The launch of the Erasmus+ information campaign and the 2025 Call for Project Proposals provided participants with opportunities to explore new ways to benefit from this program.

The Technical University of Moldova takes pride in its close collaboration with the European Union, which provides not only financial support but also a platform for continuous skill development, mobility, and integration into prestigious international educational networks. Reflecting on 30 years of Erasmus+ in Moldova, UTM Rector Viorel Bostan stated:

“We can confidently say that our partnerships with European institutions like ETF and Erasmus+ have had a tangible impact on modernizing education in Moldova, particularly in technical education and scientific research.”
