Nadejda DIDENCO, about opportunities, benefits and the teachers at FIEB-UTM

Nadejda DIDENCO, graduate of the “Business and Administration” study program of the UTM Faculty of Economics Engineering and Business, is currently contributing to the development of the marketing department in a company in the United Kingdom. She says that she owes her success to the opportunities offered by the University, but also to the professors from FIEB – Rafael CILOCI, Stela CUCOȘ, Rina ȚURCAN, Alina STRATILA, Ala OBERȘT, Cornelia CRUCERESCU and all the other teachers who guided, supported and encouraged her during her studies.

– I am extremely grateful to my teachers for believing in me. That is why, over the years, I was selected as a member of the External Evaluation Commission within ANACEC, and later as an assistant in the field of audit and standardization, where I became part of a team of German specialists.

During my 3 years at university, one of the most impactful experiences was the Erasmus mobility. This opportunity came with a lot of benefits, new friends, unique experiences, and breathtaking places. And the fact that I am able to speak English with confidence is a great asset for me, which encouraged me to present my Bachelor’s thesis in English as well. I was proud to reap the rewards very soon.

I was inspired and interested in sustainable development after participating in a seminar on this topic, led by assoc. prof. Dr. Cornelia CRUCERESCU. It was then that my curiosity and desire to know more led me to choosing this subject as the topic of my Bachelor’s thesis. My teachers encouraged me to write my paper on “The importance of sustainable development within KIRSAN COM. Methods and strategies”. Guided by the dean of FIEB, assoc. prof., Dr. Rafael CILOCI, I successfully defended my Bachelor thesis.

Sustainable development is a lesser known term in the Republic of Moldova, but it’s a concept well developed in the Nordic countries, so I decided that change should start with us. Today – I am the one talking about this term, tomorrow – you will be, and this way we can change the world, so that our future and the future of our children is not compromised by the actions and decisions taken today.

In my Bachelor thesis, I addressed the importance of sustainable development, namely in the field of construction, where 25-40% of total energy and 30% of raw materials are consumed within this sector. It also accounts for 30-40% of global greenhouse gas emissions and 30-40% of solid waste generation. We need concrete actions to combat and reduce this data, as this is the only way we can save the planet.

Immediately after graduating, I was hired by a marketing company in the UK, which offered me a motivating salary, a flexible schedule and the opportunity to grow my career.

During your years at university, you have the opportunity to gain experience and learn from the best. It is each person’s choice whether to enroll in a university just for the sake of getting a diploma, or for actually becoming a good specialist. In Moldova, there are fewer opportunities than there are at universities abroad. It’s simple, use all the resources you have here today, they will lead you to success.

In the end, I would like to thank UTM for all the opportunities and all the good people. I wish you to discover and learn as much as you can during your university years, dear students!
