The Technical University of Moldova achieved an inspiring performance at the 2025 Republican Universiade, an event that brought together athletes from five higher education institutions in the country.
Between November 8–14, 2025, during the Armwrestling Universiade hosted by the “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, UTM athletes wrote a new chapter in sports history, once again proving themselves an unstoppable force. Showcasing an impressive blend of strength, iron discipline, and championship character, they dominated the arena and the podium, turning each match into a lesson in determination and ambition.

Their relentless effort and rigorous training paid off in an impressive medal tally: 3 gold medals, 4 silver, and 4 bronze.
This remarkable result propelled the UTM team to 2nd place in the overall team ranking—a confirmation of UTM’s role as a cradle of talent and a promoter of top-level athletic performance.

Beyond the success in armwrestling, UTM continued to live in a sporting rhythm. Following the triumph of the “iron arms,” competitive spirit filled the home sports halls. From November 10–12, 2025, the Technical University of Moldova hosted the UTM Men’s Basketball Championship.

Eleven enthusiastic teams representing UTM’s faculties and the UTM College took part, offering the public unforgettable matches where fair play, perseverance, and team spirit were at their peak. After a series of intense confrontations and spectacular shots that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, the podium was claimed by the top-performing teams:
3rd Place – Faculty of Food Technology (FTA)
2nd Place – Faculty of Mechanical, Industrial and Transport Engineering (FIMIT)
1st Place – UTM College (CUTM) – CHAMPIONS!

The results reflect the talent and dedication of the participants, as well as the strong spirit of the UTM community—a community that inspires, constantly pushes boundaries, and proves that academic excellence can go hand in hand with athletic achievement. Bravo, UTM!
Congratulations to the athletes and coaches for making UTM’s heart beat stronger during these national and internal competitions!
