Cycle I Studies, License

According to the Education Code No. 152 of 17.07.2014, published on 24.10.2014 in the Official Monitor No. 319-324, art. No. 634, effective from 23.11.2014, education at TUM is organized within two cycles: first-cycle higher education (Bachelor’s studies) and second-cycle higher education (Master’s studies). TUM also offers integrated higher education programs in Architecture, regulated according to international legal standards.

Bachelor’s programs are offered in two study modes: full-time and part-time, while integrated programs are offered only in full-time mode. The study programs are provided according to the Nomenclature of Professional Training Fields and Specialties in Higher Education, approved by Government Decision No. 482 of 28 June 2017.

Admission to bachelor’s/integrated studies is organized on a competitive basis for accredited programs or programs provisionally authorized, according to TUM’s own Admission Regulations, developed in line with the framework regulations of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research.

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate diploma or an equivalent recognized qualification, validated by the competent authority responsible for recognition and equivalence of educational qualifications.

State-funded places are allocated to students of programs/specialties on a competitive basis after each academic year. State-funded places are retained for orphans and students with severe disabilities.

Bachelor’s studies correspond to 180–240 transferable credits, while integrated studies correspond to 360 credits.

Bachelor’s studies are completed with a bachelor’s examination (comprising a theoretical test and a thesis/project) and the awarding of a bachelor’s degree diploma, accompanied by a diploma supplement, issued in Romanian and English.

Integrated higher education programs are completed with a final examination and graduation project, and the award of a diploma equivalent to a Master’s degree.
