On November 7, 2024, the Technical University of Moldova hosted the second edition of the “Research Vanguard” Award, organized by the UTM Employees’ Union Committee in honor of World Science Day for Peace and Development, celebrated annually on November 10. This notable event spotlighted excellence in research and innovation, recognizing the outstanding contributions of UTM researchers who advance scientific progress both in the Republic of Moldova and internationally.
This year’s laureates – 23 researchers selected from UTM’s research institutes, the Scientific Research Management Directorate, and various faculties – were nominated for their exceptional contributions. Their work not only pushes the boundaries of knowledge but also adds significant value to the scientific community and society as a whole. The event opened with congratulatory remarks from UTM’s Rector, Professor Viorel Bostan, who emphasized the award’s importance in strengthening UTM’s role as a hub of technological advancement and knowledge. He highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting cutting-edge research that brings lasting benefits to the community and society.

A unique aspect of this edition was the announcement by the UTM administration of a doubled award amount for all laureates, a gesture recognizing their hard work and supporting the continued pursuit of research excellence.
