The highlight of the event was Professor Dragomir’s presentation. As a researcher at the National University of Singapore and a key figure in the Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing journal, he outlined the essential steps for effectively writing and publishing a scientific article. He stressed the importance of conducting thorough research and organizing one’s work before beginning to write, as well as the need to identify a suitable target journal and understand the differences between open-access and hybrid-access journals—factors critical to successful publication.

Professor Dragomir offered valuable advice on how to highlight the novelty of research and increase a manuscript’s impact. He discussed how to style and present a paper, emphasizing the need to avoid common errors and maintain a clear, concise approach. Additionally, he underscored the significance of a compelling title and abstract, which should captivate the interest of both editors and readers.

In the concluding section of his presentation, Professor Dragomir delved into the review process and the steps leading to acceptance, providing detailed guidance on how authors can effectively respond to feedback and improve their manuscripts accordingly. His explanations on common reasons for manuscript rejection were particularly insightful, giving participants a clear understanding of the evaluation criteria used by reviewers and editors.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by a motivational speech from Professor Dr. habil. Vasile Tronciu, Vice-Rector for Research and Development. He encouraged young researchers not to be discouraged by the challenges of the scientific publication process. “Publishing an article is not just an opportunity to share your research findings, but also a way to actively contribute to the advancement of your field. Each paper is a step forward in personal and professional development, as well as a chance to collaborate with experts from around the world,” Professor Tronciu remarked.
