The Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Ukraine has appointed Professor Yurii KHLAPONIN, PhD in Technical Sciences, to coordinate academic collaboration with higher education institutions in Europe and Asia.
In his new role, Professor Khlaponin will be responsible for establishing and coordinating collaboration agreements, organizing conferences, and developing other educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in Ukrainian universities.
Recently, Professor Khlaponin visited the Technical University of Moldova to discuss potential exchanges in the fields of Cybersecurity and Robotics. The meeting included Vice-Rector for Research Vasile TRONCIU, Erasmus+ Center Head Larisa BUGAIAN, and Director of the National Institute of Innovations in Cybersecurity “Cybercor” Ludmila PECA. The participants expressed a strong interest in developing strategic partnerships that would benefit students and academic staff in both countries.

This initiative is viewed as a major advancement in enhancing international academic relations and fostering educational excellence within Ukrainian higher education institutions. The new collaborations led by Professor Khlaponin are expected to bring significant benefits to students and faculty in both Ukraine and Moldova, especially at UTM, by:
– Providing access to world-class resources and expertise in key academic fields;
– Offering opportunities for participation in academic mobility and research programs;
– Exposing participants to the latest practices and trends in education and research;
– Facilitating the building of professional networks with experts from Europe and Asia.


Professor Khlaponin expressed his enthusiasm for his new responsibilities and emphasized the importance of international cooperation for the continuous development of Ukraine’s educational system: “I firmly believe that international partnerships with prestigious universities in Europe and Asia are essential for the continuous development of Ukraine’s educational system. I look forward to working with my colleagues at UTM and other universities to adopt best practices and innovate in education and research.”
