The Moldova Digital Summit 2024, the country’s premier digital event, successfully concluded today, bringing together top leaders and experts from around the world to discuss building a sustainable digital society and economy. Over three days, the summit provided a unique platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge, fostering networking, and sparking inspiration. Participants of all ages had the opportunity to explore learning experiences, engage with cutting-edge technologies, establish valuable connections, and share their motivations.
One of the standout features of the Moldova Digital Summit 2024 was the active involvement of young people. Students from the Technical University of Moldova, one of the summit’s partners and co-organizers, played a significant role in the event’s success. Under the guidance of the Center for Career Guidance and Counseling and its administrator, Radu Melnic, dozens of students from the Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics (FCIM) participated as volunteers. They took on roles ranging from event organization and guiding summit attendees to presenting their own projects and innovations.

The FCIM students showcased remarkable creativity and ingenuity, presenting a diverse array of projects and innovations in the “Research & Innovation” area. Their work spanned fields like EdTech, FinTech, AI, and VR. Some of their standout exhibits included:
– Agro Bot: An innovative autonomous vehicle designed to revolutionize agricultural activities, offering farmers efficient and sustainable solutions.
– IoT Smart Greenhouse: A miniature automated greenhouse that allows for remote control and monitoring of the environment.
– Obstacle Detection and Lighting Device: A sample of a real lighting system and an autonomous parking device that can be incorporated into any vehicle’s structure.
– Functional Elevator System Model: A model of an elevator shaft in a three-story building controlled by a microcontroller.
– 3D Scanner: A device developed in FabLab that digitizes object surfaces, creating virtual 3D models usable for 3D printing or reverse engineering.
– Nao Robots: Robots equipped with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) that interacted with the public through dances and songs.

The final day of the summit was dedicated to tech enthusiasts and products created by young innovators. UTM students actively participated in Tekwill Expo Day 2024, where they engaged in interactive workshops, informative sessions, and practical demonstrations in areas such as educational robotics, electronic circuits, 3D modeling and printing, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. They contributed to creating a friendly and engaging environment, actively participating in dialogues and idea exchanges with industry professionals, presenting their creations, and sharing their technological experiences.
The Moldova Digital Summit 2024 clearly demonstrated the vital role young people play in shaping the country’s digital future. The active involvement of students from the Technical University of Moldova showcased that young people are not just beneficiaries of technological changes but also creators and promoters of these changes. Through their enthusiastic participation and assistance, the youth demonstrated they are ready to take the lead and shape the future of innovation and technology. The young innovators of today are the creators and pioneers of tomorrow. They are the ones who will shape the digital world and contribute to building a better and more sustainable future.
