The UTM Faculty of Energetics and Electrical Engineering hosted a training program addressing the energy crisis

From January 9th to 12th, 2024, the Faculty of Energetics and Electrical Engineering (FEIE) at the Technical University of Moldova hosted a training program with the support of the National Center for Sustainable Energy and the “Addressing the Impact of the Energy Crisis in the Republic of Moldova” program. This initiative received financial support from the European Union and was implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova, in collaboration with the Continuing Education University Center of UTM and the teaching staff of FEIE-UTM.

The training program was specifically designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of energy auditors in the industry. Participants, who were already enrolled in the energy auditors’ registry, went through a series of theoretical and practical courses conducted within the laboratories of FEIE-UTM. The holistic approach of the program aimed to provide participants with practical tools to effectively address the complex challenges within the energy sector.

The courses covered a broad array of topics, ranging from foundational energy theory to innovative practices in the industry. Participants had the opportunity to solidify their existing knowledge and explore efficient solutions for contemporary energy challenges. The laboratories at FEIE-UTM created a conducive environment for experiments and practical demonstrations, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts.

It is to be noted that these courses were initially structured for registered energy auditors, but with plans in place to expand the target audience. The intention for the near future is to offer these courses to other potential energy auditors who are not yet enrolled in the respective registry. This goal is to increase the number of professionals equipped to tackle the challenges in the energy sector.

Through such initiatives, the Republic of Moldova confirms its commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency. The collaboration between academic institutions, research organizations, and international entities highlights the shared goal of creating a community of specialists capable of making significant contributions to addressing the energy crisis.

In conclusion, these training courses represent a crucial step in strengthening the capabilities of energy auditors in the Republic of Moldova, contributing to the establishment of a solid foundation for a sustainable energy future.
