As a result of her contribution to the promotion and development of the energy sector, Mrs. Cristina EFREMOV, PhD, Univ. Lect. at UTM, became a member of the Romanian National Committee Association – CIGRE.
The CIGRE Romanian National Committee Association is the representative of Romania officially recognized by the Board of Directors of the International Council on Large Electric Systems, or Conseil International des Grands Résèaux Electriques (CIGRE), based in Paris – a professional organization founded in 1921. Currently, CIGRE Paris has over 15,000 members from over 90 countries and 57 National Committees, including the Romanian National Committee Association – CIGRE (www.cigre.org).
The RNC-CIGRE association has a technical-scientific component of civil society, being independent, non-governmental, apolitical and non-profit, according to the Constitutive Act. The activities and the topics addressed within the Association tackle the production side of electrical energy, its transport, distribution and storage, as well as other significant aspects related to the energy market.
According to the CIGRE regulations, the main goals of the Association are:
- participation in the organizational and technical structures of CIGRE Paris through involvement in Study Committees and Working Groups;
- the organization of internal and international conferences and symposia, public debates, as well as public demonstrations and other activities in CIGRE’s field of activity, according to the law;
- creating and editing periodical publications, leaflets, posters, brochures, books, computer programs and other informative materials;
- development of own programs and in partnership, with public organizations and companies in the field from within the country and abroad;
- participation in technical-scientific sessions, working groups and other events organized by individuals and legal entities, with or without patrimonial purpose, from Romania and abroad.
