EU4SID Summer School, 5th day

On June 17, the EU4SID Summer School finalized its activity. The organizers expressed their fulfillment with having contributed to the development of the younger generation’s skills in identifying solutions for sustainable, smart and inclusive growth.

The topic of European integration and sustainable industrial development, discussed during the 5 days of the EU4SID Summer School, captured the attention of students from 7 UTM faculties (FIEB, FCGC, FEIE, FET, FTA, FCIM, FTP).

On the 5th day, June 17, 2022, the participants had the opportunity to meet the representative of AO “EcoContact”, Irina PUNGA, guest of the EU4SID Summer School, who shed some light on the mechanism of environmental protection through the environmental assessment procedure. The Agreement on the Association of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union provides for the action of improving the legislation on environmental protection. One of the environmental assessment processes is the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), developed in accordance with EU Directives and the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context. The EIA methodology has been applied in the Republic of Moldova since 2014, and will be improved in order to ensure a better transparency of the process of involvement of the various stakeholders and of the decisions of the Environment Agency.

Among the other topics studied were the EU Institutional System, the EU Eastern Partnership, cohesion policy and the contribution of innovation policies to sustainable industrial development, presented by the members of the project team, assoc. prof., Dr. Cornelia CRUCERESCU, assoc. prof., Dr. Rafael CILOCI, and assoc. prof., Dr. Veaceslav BÂRDAN.

The EU4SID Summer School was organized on June 13-17, 2022, under the auspices of the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business of the Technical University of Moldova, within the Jean Monnet Module EU4SID project “Sustainable Industrial Development in the Context of European Integration”, Nr. 610848-EPP-1-2019-1-MD-EPPJMO-MODULE, which is implemented at FIEB, UTM, with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
