EU4SID 2022 Summer School, 2nd day

On June 14, 2022, on the 2nd day of EU4SID Summer School, the program welcomed two new guests, well-known for their activity in the area of European integration through sustainable industrial development: Ion TORNEA, deputy head of the Employers’ Association of the Manufacturing Industry (APIP), and Dorina MARGINE, deputy administrator of the Balti Free Economic Zone (FEZ).

The economic aspect of sustainable development is very important and the role of industry is decisive, thus, the European Union pays close attention to industrial development. Moldova’s cooperation with European partners makes it possible to reduce the gap present in industrial development, including the circulation of sustainable development practices. These are, in fact, the current concerns of APIP and ZEL – attracting foreign investors and job creation, initiating the Cluster of Excellence in Automatics and Mechatronics, supporting research & development, promoting dual education, but also lifelong learning, and developing strategic plans for industry development. One of the distinctive activities is the elaboration of the support program for local suppliers, inspired by the Czech partners, in which the students and teachers from FIEB were also trained. The program is a good opportunity to integrate local suppliers into European value chains.

The members of the project team – assoc. prof., Dr. Cornelia CRUCERESCU, assoc. prof., Dr. Rafael CILOCI and assoc. prof., Dr. Veaceslav BÂRDAN, discussed issues related to European integration, trade policy and competition policy.

We remind you that the EU4SID Summer School is organized within the project Jean Monnet Module EU4SID “Sustainable industrial development in the context of European integration”, Nr. 610848-EPP-1-2019-1-MD-EPPJMO-MODULE, which is implemented at FIEB, UTM, with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
