Dumitru NICULĂIȚĂ graduated from the Faculty of Economic and Engineering Business, specializing in Marketing and Logistics. He has also completed his Master’s degree at the same faculty, within the “Business Administration” program.
– I really admired the professors of the faculty, who, in addition to teaching the course, were also associated with the real environment of the economy, working in various companies, and some being involved in projects of restructuring and economic recovery of some industries in the country.
Honestly, some of the courses I would gladly study once more, with bigger interest and more carefully, because over the years they have proven their usefulness and value.
I started my professional career in sales in the 3rd year of university. Later, I worked in an advertising agency, where I learned everything I know related to advertising (print, OOH, radio, TV). I focused on shopper marketing, having among my clients large international brands, part of the local market FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). I also worked as a marketing manager, PR and communication manager, marketing director, and marketing consultant. I am currently a brand manager at Moldova Agroindbank, the largest commercial bank on the local market, where I develop a marketing mix for certain products for SMEs and the corporate segment.
The faculty has set down the foundations of my knowledge and understanding of this field. One of my exhortations to future, but also current students, is to spend your years at university dedicating yourself and your attention to your courses as much as possible, because later in life, once you pass your first 2-3 years, other priorities start to arise, and the time dedicated to your studies will be absorbed by your job, or maybe a small business in which you will be able to turn your ideas into products or services.
If you succeed in applying for an internship during your university years, or to be employed during the summer vacation – these are ideal options for the development of your practical skills. It is important to study for a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree, followed by an eventual PhD degree program (which I’m currently involved in at another university in Chișinău) to acquire the proper training for becoming dedicated specialists. Reading, courses, training sessions, all of these will help you become a successful professional.
Marketing is a constantly changing field, and related areas are emerging. If 10 years ago there was very little talk about the implementation of digital marketing techniques, now practically over 50 percent of marketing budgets are directed to online activities. In order for brands to be appreciated by consumers, companies dedicate their time, human resources, and financial resources to being recognized on multiple social platforms.
Studying is certainly very important, and you continue to improve after graduating. It is important to constantly develop your strengths and competencies, which you accumulate over time, through experience.
