On November 19-20, under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Technical University of the Republic of Moldova organizes the Regional Cyber Security Forum within the 7th edition of “Moldova Cyber Week 2019”. The event will take place inside the ICT Excellence Center “Tekwill” (Studentilor street, 9/11).
At the opening of the Forum, which will be held on November 19th, the guests will be greeted by Prime Minister Maia Sandu, senior representatives from abroad such as Luc Devigne, the European Union External Action Service, Preetam Maloor, the International Union of Telecommunications and United States Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan. Also, speeches will be delivered by experts from world-renowned IT companies: “Microsoft”, “Cisco”, “Oracle”, “Kaspersky”, “Bitdefender”, “Huawei” etc.
At the same time, there will be several discussion panels on current topics of interest: Cyber Diplomacy; Reinventing cyber security at geopolitical level; The future of technology: expectations and perspectives; From cyber security – to cyber immunity; Emerging trends in cyber security; NIS Directive in national legislation, Cybercrime – Action and Counteracting; Good practices regarding the implementation of cyber security policies of Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Georgia, Ukraine.
November 20th is intended for workshops and practical exercises, during which participants will be able to improve their cyber-incident response capabilities by simulating cyber-attack scenarios with the task of finding the most appropriate solutions to crisis situations. The team of trainers is made of representatives of the private sector from Romania, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Estonia.
The activities in this year’s edition will bring to the fore the role of the human factor and the importance of strengthening the cooperation at regional level, the public-private sector and the academic environment, in order to align the capabilities of the participating organizations regarding incident management, raising awareness of potential threats and their remediation.
