TUM Student – the winner of the Z-Generation Young Designers Contest

The Z-Generation Contest is already at its second edition, and this time, the number of participants increased considerably, proving that we have numerous talented and inspiring young people, motivated to create even in their home country, Moldova.

Among the 34 young people that have been registered, in the finale of contest, only 21 fresh collections have arrived, through which the young designers proved their originality, ingenuity and creativity. The winner of the 1st place, Daria Golneva, a student at TUM, will continue her fight for the Grand Prix in Kiev on July 5th, when the International Young Designer Contest will be held.

Daria Golneva is a graduate of the Faculty of Textiles and Polygraphy. In her third year of university, she received a one-year internship at the Academia di Belle Arti in Como, Italy, which helped her develop her skills in textiles and clothing design.

It is a great success for ZIPhouse, the organizers of this contest, a platform through which the academic field – teachers and students, connect with the private sector, especially with successful companies of the light industry, for effective collaboration. For instance, by the end of the event, one of the participants received the offer of collaboration with one of the well-known local brands, Georgette.

The event was organized by the Center of Excellence and Acceleration in Design and Technologies “ZIPhouse” of the Technical University of Moldova, in partnership with the Light Industry Employers’ Association, and the support of the Moldovian Competitiveness Project, financed by USAID, Sweden and UK Aid, supported by The Government of Great Britain.
