Bringing European Practices Closer to UTM Students

Education advances when universities connect their people, ideas and experience. With this goal in mind, two academic staff members from the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics at the Technical University of Moldova took part in a teaching mobility in Greece. The visit took place at the University of Piraeus in Athens through the Erasmus+ program.

UTM was represented by Associate Professor Veaceslav Nastasenco, PhD, and Assistant Lecturer Mihail Musteață. During the mobility, they delivered lectures in information technology and software engineering.

This kind of mobility creates a valuable space for cooperation between European universities. By exchanging teaching methods, ideas and professional experience, academic staff can strengthen the educational process, compare approaches, discuss research and identify new areas for future collaboration.

Reflecting on the experience, Mihail Musteață said:

“Although this is only my first year of teaching, I had the opportunity to represent UTM in an international academic setting, an experience that made me feel proud and grateful. The mobility at the University of Piraeus allowed me to meet professors from different academic backgrounds, observe new approaches and promote both my country and my university. It was a valuable exchange of experience, culture and knowledge, and it motivates me to continue contributing to the academic environment and to strengthening UTM’s international relations.”

The UTM academics also met with representatives of the Greek university and with the International Relations Department at the University of Piraeus. The discussions focused on cooperation between the two institutions, the exchange of good practices, academic mobility and potential areas for joint work.

Such experiences support the internationalization of higher education and the professional development of academic staff. The professors return to UTM with new methods, examples and perspectives that can be integrated into courses, seminars and applied activities.

Through Erasmus+ partnerships, UTM brings European academic experience closer to its students. What professors learn, observe and discuss at partner universities later translates into more applied courses, updated teaching methods and new collaborations. This exchange contributes directly to training the specialists Moldova needs in the technology sector.

The visit was co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program.
