In line with the Regulation on the election of the Rector of the Technical University of Moldova, approved by the UTM Senate on June 30, 2015, with subsequent amendments, the Council for Institutional Strategic Development has validated the results of the rectoral election, following its decision of April 24, 2026.
The vote, held on April 23, 2026, recorded the following turnout:
- Total number of registered voters: 982;
- Number of participants: 908.
The results of the vote for the position of Rector of the Technical University of Moldova are as follows:
- Viorel Bostan, professor, habilitated doctor – 751 votes;
- Veaceslav Bârdan, associate professor, PhD in Economic Sciences – 137 votes.
Based on these results and in accordance with the established regulations, Viorel Bostan, professor and habilitated doctor, has been elected Rector of the Technical University of Moldova.
The mandate of the newly elected rector will be carried out in accordance with national legislation and the internal regulations of the Technical University of Moldova.
