FIEB-UTM: International Lecture on Ethics and Technology with Fulbright Scholar Natalia REKHTER

The Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business (FIEB) at the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) continued its tradition of facilitating high-level academic engagements by offering second-cycle (Master’s) students the opportunity to attend a lecture delivered by Dr. Natalia I. Rekhter, a Fulbright Scholar and Director of the Undergraduate Health Services Administration Program at Governors State University, USA.

The lecture topic, of significant importance and undeniable relevance—“The Impact of Technology on Emerging Ethical and Financial Issues”—immediately captured attention for its timeliness and depth. Dr. Rekhter skillfully explored how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, process automation, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are dramatically reshaping not only economic and financial practices but also the core ethical values of modern society.

Who is Natalia I. Rekhter? With an impressive academic background and broad international experience, Dr. Rekhter holds a PhD in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University, a Master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Philology from the State University of Ivanovo, Russia. She currently serves as Director of the Undergraduate Health Services Administration Program and Associate Professor at the College of Health and Human Services, Governors State University. Throughout her career, she has earned several Fulbright grants and has been actively involved in professional organizations, making significant contributions to health services administration and international education, with a strong portfolio of publications and presentations at global conferences.

This keynote lecture marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of FIEB’s students, offering them direct access to a global perspective and internationally recognized expertise—crucial elements for their future careers. Initiatives like this reaffirm UTM’s commitment to integrating an international dimension into education and providing students with a modern learning environment attuned to the realities and challenges of today’s world.
