In line with the European Cybersecurity Month 2024 initiative, and with the support of the Development Foundation of Moldova and the Future Technologies Project, Cybercor visited the Chisinau Court, Ciocana office, on October 9 to train court employees on the challenges related to cybersecurity.
The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to ensure cybersecurity in the digital space. Attendees were provided with valuable information on techniques for assessing and identifying fraudulent emails, verifying sender addresses through specialized scanning platforms, preventive measures against malicious software, the risks associated with online browsing, social engineering threats, minimum security requirements for terminal devices and mobile devices, online transaction security, and more.
During the session, Dinu Țurcanu, UTM’s Vice-Rector for Digitalization, underscored the university’s commitment to fostering a secure digital environment through the “Cybercor” National Cybersecurity Innovation Institute. He stressed the importance of data protection and being vigilant against cyber threats, stating, “I believe that by acquiring the necessary knowledge and adopting effective practices, court employees can play a significant role in safeguarding information and maintaining the integrity of the systems they work with.”
It is worth noting that the European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM) is an initiative launched by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), involving a series of activities throughout October.
To strengthen cybersecurity during this period, UTM and CYBERCOR will organize:
– Training sessions on cybersecurity for state institution employees, faculty members, students, master’s and PhD candidates.
– Thematic seminars aimed at raising awareness about cyber threats and incidents.
– Social media campaigns disseminating minimum security requirements under the hashtag #ThinkB4UClick.
The mission of the “Cybercor” National Cybersecurity Innovation Institute to train as many people as possible in cybersecurity is crucial for developing a secure digital society. This mission is even more pressing in light of the Government’s September 13, 2023, decision on professional development in the field of cybersecurity. This decision officially designates the Technical University of Moldova as the key institution responsible for ensuring national cybersecurity by implementing training programs, cybersecurity drills, research and innovation programs, security guidelines, best practices, and partnerships with relevant organizations.
