FAFxSigmoid Summer Hackathon 2024: A Marathon of Ingenuity and Innovative Ideas

On June 15 and 16, 2024, the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics hosted the FAFxSigmoid Summer Hackathon 2024. Organized by the FAF and Sigmoid communities, the event brought together talented and ambitious students eager to showcase their ingenuity and contribute to solving a real-world problem: facilitating informed decision-making in purchasing tech products.

The hackathon’s electrifying atmosphere fueled participants’ creativity, leading to the development of innovative and efficient solutions in the form of web platforms and browser extensions. These projects highlighted the wide range of applications and underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in the tech field.

A key element of the FAFxSigmoid Summer Hackathon 2024 was the guidance provided by experienced mentors, who significantly enhanced the impact and relevance of the developed projects through sharing their insights and advice.

The hackathon jury awarded the top three winning teams, recognizing their hard work, creativity, and innovative solutions. Additionally, one team received the special “People’s Choice” award for the admiration and support garnered from attendees. The prizes were offered by the Technical University of Moldova and TechQuarter.

The FAFxSigmoid Summer Hackathon 2024 would not have been possible without the support of its partners. Stefanini, a multinational company with extensive experience in the IT industry, was the event’s main sponsor, ensuring assistance and special prizes. TechQuarter, the premium sponsor, made a significant contribution with its advanced solutions and expertise in digital strategies. Additionally, Moldova Future Technologies Activity (FTA) and the Technical University of Moldova provided essential support for the smooth running of the hackathon.
