On May 17, 2024, the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, Romania, hosted the 15th edition of the “Mihail Konteschweller” Microcontrollers and Applications Competition. The event brought together teams from several esteemed universities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, providing students with a platform to showcase their innovations and projects in the field of microelectronics and microcontroller applications.
The competition featured teams from various academic institutions, including:
– “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, Romania;
– “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, Romania;
– “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați – UDJ, Romania;
– “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava – USM, Romania;
– Technical University of Moldova, Chișinău – UTM, Republic of Moldova.
UTM delivered an outstanding performance. The two teams from the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering of the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics impressed the jury with practical innovations.
The first team, Roman ANDREEV, a student in the “Applied Electronics” program (gr. EA-221), under the coordination of Univ. Assist. Andrian BÎRNAZ, presented the “Ionizer Generator” project and earned the special prize from CONTINENTAL.
The second team, featuring students Alexandru RAILEAN and Andrian CHEPTENE from the “Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies” program (gr. MN-221) under the guidance of Univ. Assist. Maxim CHIRIAC, presented the “LuminPark” project and received both the special MAGNA Prize and the special PREH Prize.
The Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering at the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics extends warm congratulations to the participating teams, highlighting the importance of such competitions in the professional development of students. The department offers Bachelor’s and Master’s-level education across three study programs: “Applied Electronics,” “Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies,” and “Biomedical Engineering”, as well as five other PhD-level programs.
The “Mihail Konteschweller” Microcontrollers and Applications Competition remains a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, engage with potential employers, and forge connections with industry partners.
