Inspiring the Future Generation of Engineers: First-Year Complementary Students’ Visit to FCIM-UTM

The first-year complementary students, accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Serghei ANDRONIC, participated in a captivating educational session during their visit at the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics. This experience was an opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge and reaffirm their choice in favor of the academic programs offered by this faculty.

The youth was welcomed by the dean of the faculty, Associate Professor Dr. Dumitru CIORBĂ, who introduced the students to the history and mission of the faculty and provided detailed information about study programs, available scholarships, academic mobility prospects, and career trajectories within the field of engineering. This instructive speech not only addressed their queries but also encouraged them to pursue their academic aspirations at the Technical University of Moldova.

The visit included a guided tour through study building nr. 3, affiliated with the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics, during which the students explored various subdivisions of the faculty, including the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering, the Department of Software Engineering and Automation, and the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering. Led by Associate Professor Dr. Irina COJUHARI (DISA), Lecturer Dr. Nicolai ABABII (DMIB), and Lecturer Silvia MUNTEANU (DIIS), this tour provided a thorough presentation of the lecture halls, laboratories, and state-of-the-art equipment, as well as concise descriptions of each facility, covering computer networks, electronic and microelectronic devices, electric vehicles, and machine learning concepts, among others.

The visit to the Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics not only allowed the young people to get to know the various facets of technology but also served as a source of motivation and inspiration to follow their passion for science and innovation. This unique educational experience reflects UTM’s ongoing commitment to promote excellence in the technological landscape and shape the future generation of leaders and innovators in this dynamic and ever-evolving field.

It’s worth noting that among the 92 first-year complementary students, 49 have expressed their intention to enroll in the Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics at the Technical University of Moldova.
