UTM and the Technical-Criminalistic and Judicial Expertise Center of the General Police Inspectorate have signed a collaboration agreement

Establishing effective partnerships and creating a high-performing team hinges on three key factors: autonomy, competence, and connection. These elements form the foundation for building strong, transparent, efficient, and impactful collaborative relationships.

For the greater good of society and to advance the quality of education and applied research, UTM, led by Rector Viorel BOSTAN, Dr. habil., along with Vice-Rector for Digitalization Dinu ȚURCANU, and representatives from the Technical-Criminalistic and Judicial Expertise Center (CTCEJ), a specialized subdivision within the General Police Inspectorate providing technical-criminalistic assistance in crime detection and investigation, came together on September 19th to sign a Collaboration Agreement. This agreement primarily focuses on the educational sector, particularly in the realms of training, improvement, technologization, utilization, and application of research and testing infrastructure. It also emphasizes the exchange of expertise and, notably, the deepening of knowledge in specific scientific domains such as mechanical engineering, construction engineering, information technology, economics, chemistry, and more.

The current agreement also covers the implementation of educational projects, internships, training sessions, regular professional development, and sharing experiences. Additionally, it involves hiring personnel from among UTM graduates. Therefore, if action and detective movies have sparked the curiosity of many about how this field operates, UTM students will get the chance to witness this process in reality.

In this partnership, UTM and CTCEJ will collaborate on mutually relevant dimensions by addressing subjects and issues with national significance. These include research on road traffic accidents, evaluation and division of real estate, investigation of real estate objects, construction materials, and related documents, along with research on information systems, radio-electronic devices, economic and financial analysis of enterprises, and the study of materials and substances.

To achieve high-performance metrics, UTM and CTCEJ will join forces to collectively develop their existing research infrastructure, aiming to enhance the quality of their results.

The parties consider that this Agreement will serve as an effective collaboration tool for the public interest: UTM, as a university of excellence and the only engineering-focused institution in the Republic of Moldova, prioritizes student-centered engineering education and the development of practical competencies, as well as study plans tailored to the pressing needs of the present era. Concurrently, the Center for Technical-Criminalistic and Judicial Expertise (CTCEJ) at the General Police Inspectorate is a vital institution directly contributing to the administration of justice by providing reliable evidence in criminal investigations. The parties have signed this document with an open-minded approach, aspiring to achieve outstanding results that will promptly come to fruition.

We express our confidence in the high quality of the joint activities that will follow, bringing added value to the whole society.
