As part of the ERASMUS+ academic mobility at the Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences in Lithuania, univ. assistants Veronica ANDRIEVSCHI-BAGRIN, head of the “Information Technology” study programme, and Svetlana COJOCARU, deputy head of the Department of Software Engineering and Automation (DISA) within the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, contributed to the promotion of the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two institutions.
The guests were warmly welcomed by the representatives of the Šiauliai University – Rasa POCEVIČIENĖ, the head of the Studies and Sciences Coordination Unit, and the members of the International Relations Office. The mobility program included: conducting lectures for academic groups from the Multimedia Technologies, Information Systems Technologies, and Software Engineering study programmes.
During the mobility program, the representatives of FCIM-UTM carried out courses, participated in the defense of undergraduate projects for the intermediate evaluation of students from the Information Systems Technology specialty, and presented the ISA Department within FCIM-UTM. The activities were appreciated by the academic community of the Šiauliai University as an important contribution to strengthening the relations between the two higher education institutions.
As a sign of appreciation and gratitude, the International Relations Office of the Šiauliai University organized a trip for the UTM representatives and three other lecturers from Albania and Turkey to the Hill of Crosses – an important symbol of the Baltic resistance against the Soviet occupation.
The mobility internship concluded with a ceremony during which participants were handed certificates of participation in the academic mobility program. Mrs. Veronica ANDRIEVSCHI-BAGRIN and Svetlana COJOCARU thanked the host university for the hospitality and the accumulated international experience – an important asset for their teaching, administrative and research activity.
The Technical University of Moldova encourages such initiatives and promotes the active involvement of teaching staff in the academic mobility programs offered by its international partners.
