Roxana ȚURCANU-TOLOMEY, AUF representative – an example of professionalism and dedication

The conclusion of the mission in Chișinău of Ms. Roxana ŢURCANU-TOLOMEY, representative of the Francophone University Agency for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, was an opportunity for assessing the results and perspectives of French-speaking projects at the Technical University of Moldova.

Warmly greeted by the rector of UTM, dr. Viorel BOSTAN, the vice-rector Dinu ȚURCANU, the dean of FTA, dr. Vladislav REȘITCA, the dean of FCIM, dr. Dumitru CIORBĂ, and the teachers involved in the francophone projects carried out within UTM, Mrs. Roxana ȚURCAN-TOLOMEY said that UTM has been very open regarding all the projects and programs launched by AUF-Chișinău and she greatly appreciates the University’s effort to perpetuate the francophone spirit among young scholars.

– The Technical University of Moldova, in turn, expresses its respect and deep gratitude, given that during your mission, UTM has deepened its collaboration with over 20 French-speaking institutions both academically and scientifically, stated rector Viorel BOSTAN.

In retrospect, the collaboration of UTM and AUF has induced a substantial evolution in the field of francophone training in the francophone branches of UTM: “Informatics” and “Food Technologies”. Together, we managed to launch two innovative projects: “Création de la première formation universitaire francophone à présence renforcée en entreprise en République de Moldova” – implemented within the Francophone Branch “Informatics”, and “Renforcement d’une formation professionnalisante de niveau licence à la Formation universitaire Francophone «Technologies Alimentaires»” – implemented within the Francophone Branch “Food Technologies”.

Thanks to the collaboration with French universities and French-speaking companies operating in the Republic of Moldova, we managed to strengthen relations with the entrepreneurial environment. Within the project focused on supporting francophone mobility, over 30 professors and over 30 students benefited from short- or long-term mobility in francophone universities and partner companies, and approximately 20 francophone professors carried out various teaching activities at UTM. The projects aimed at supporting extracurricular activities – “Renforcement de l’employabilité et de l’insertion professionnelle en Roumanie et en République de Moldova”, „Scanner thermique Intelligent – IntellST”, „Zéro Gaspillage – pour une production et une consommation responsable en ECO”, „Le modèle intelligente pour amélioration de processus de formation”, as well as various CRU activities, carried out with the support of Ms. Roxana ȚURCANU-TOLOMEY and the AUF team, also contributed to the development of the Francophone Branch of the University.

The field of scientific research also benefited from substantial support from AUF. Within the collaboration, over 10 scientific projects were implemented at UTM, which contribute to the consolidation of UTM’s position in the French-speaking scientific environment. Her spirit and dedication made it possible to launch and carry out projects with great impact, including during the pandemic.

For her devotion, support and full involvement in the development of francophone projects at UTM, Ms. Roxana ȚURCANU-TOLOMEY was awarded several diplomas of gratitude, the motto of which serves as stimulus for all of us: “Ensemble, tout est possible!”
