On March 13, the representative team of UTM, made up of the professors from the Department of Agronomy and Environment of the UTM Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (FŞASM), participated in the joint meeting organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and the “Ernest Lupan” Institute for Research in Circular Economy and Environment regarding the realization of the objectives of the NATI00NS project – the foundation for the Living Labs and Lighthouses network.
As a result, on March 14, a delegation from the “Ernest Lupan” Institute for Research in Circular Economy and Environment visited the headquarters of the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Agronomy and Environment, and the didactic laboratories.
The guests learned about the study programmes and the teaching activities within the FŞASM. The parties brought up the interconnection with the real sector and the current scientific-didactic potential, which can be used in the implementation of the project through participation in the foundation of the monitoring system through the creation of the Living Labs and Lighthouses network, for the purpose of assessing the state of the land, conserving soil fertility, and using soils rationally. At the same time, the network will bring valuable contribution to the production and consumption systems with zero net emissions, efficient from the point of view of the sustainable use of natural resources.
Living Labs are open ecosystems, where end users, manufacturers and researchers actively collaborate to develop, test and validate innovative solutions. These labs are used to test new products and services in a real-life environment, in which user feedback can be obtained and adjustments can be made to improve the product or service.
Lighthouses are innovative projects that serve as examples of good practices and solutions that can be replicated, applied and adapted in different regions and sectors.
NATI00NS is a European Union project that aims to create a network of Living Labs and Lighthouses to promote innovation in Europe. The aim of this project is to encourage collaboration between different sectors and entities (such as academia, the public sector and private companies) to develop innovative solutions and bring social and economic benefits to regions and communities.
