ERASMUS+ IMC «Étudiant Entrepreneur» project has become a standard for UTM, due to the effectiveness with which the project team, coordinated by Mr. Jean-Claude MILLION from IUT Louis Pasteur (UNISTRA, France), achieves the defined objectives and succeeds in establishing new strategic partnerships.
Thus, from November 28 to December 2, the rector of UTM, Prof., Dr. habil. Viorel BOSTAN, accompanied by vice-rectors Dinu ȚURCANU, Daniela POJAR, and the head of the International Relations Service, Nina PUȚUNTEAN, carried out a mission in Strasbourg, France, within the Erasmus+ IMC project, on the subject of “Biotechnologies, transformation et valorisation des produits agroalimentaires et la digitalisation dans les processus de production. Échanges pédagogiques et organisationnels” (Biotechnology, transformation and valorization of agri-food products and digitalization in production processes. Pedagogical and organizational exchanges).
The program included a series of meetings with the UNISTRA administration, the IUT Louis Pasteur administration, the heads of the Mesures Physiques, Génie Biologique and Génie Industriel & Maintenance departments, as well as the essential beneficiaries of the project: 8 students (6 from UTM and 2 from USM) from the Republic of Moldova, who are in the course of their mobility programme in Strasbourg – Maxim CERTAN, Cătălin ȚURCANU, Nicoleta POCIUMBAN, Andreea CAZACU, Olga OHRIMENCO, Iana ROBU, Marcel ZACUȚELU and Romina Cătălina BRÎNZA.
In the context of the reform initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research regarding the reorganization of UTM through merging with UASM and affiliating 3 research institutes, the objectives of the mission included exchanges of best practices during visits to: Desaga robotic cattle farm in Lapoutroie, managed by Cyril Desaga, where high-performance robots ensure the automatic process of milking; the Claudepierre farm, which produces Tomme des Vosges and aged white Munster; the Gourmandises du Bonhomme enterprise, specializing in the manufacture of certified organic artisan jams, owned by Pierre MILLION.
UTM recognizes the important role of the viticulture industry in the Republic of Moldova and supports its development via providing study programs related to this area, as well as through carrying out research in the field, which occasioned the visit to INRAE – the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment Grand-Est – Colmar, a Center that carries out research focused on the development of innovations for sustainable viticulture.
Mr. Jean-Claude MILLION, who is also the president of the Alsace-Moldova Association, a reliable partner of UTM, organized a meeting with the members of the association who contribute substantially to the promotion of Franco-Moldovan solidarity and relations, which was followed by the visit of Ambassador Daniela CUJBĂ, permanent representative of the Republic of Moldova at the Council of Europe, whose voice plays an important role in the support of our initiatives.
The success of the mission was undeniable, thanks to the expertise, professionalism and involvement of all participants in this mission, especially the project coordinator. The important contribution of Mr. Emmanuel SKOULIOS, president of CCI France-Moldova, increases the impact of the implementation of joint actions, while promoting education in the field of entrepreneurship, including in the French-speaking sectors.
