Dr. Eduard GERHARD from Coburg University, about the Exchange Program and SAP courses

A successful enterprise operates based on new management methods and tools, as well as new technologies. Thus, digitalization is already an undoubted necessity that brings forth many advantages and benefits. Accomplishing this mission implies the organization of complementary training for students, in order for them to be able to face tomorrow’s challenges.

In this context, a valuable contribution is brought by the project on SAP courses and Exchange Program carried out in collaboration with Coburg University in Germany. During November 30 – December 1, Professor Dr. Eduard GERHARDT conducted a set of activities: introduction to SAP, SAP Workshop for teachers, hands-on session with students and teachers, as well as discussions with teachers regarding the teaching format, deadlines, conditions etc. The events were attended by students and professors from the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business and the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics.

SAP is an ERP system that offers integrated solutions for most business processes, being a global leader and used by the overwhelming majority of the largest corporations in the world. It also constitutes a reference model for other existing ERPs.

As a result of the discussions, it was agreed to organize a 5-credit SAP course for students and teachers from the two faculties, thus establishing both an inter-faculty and international collaboration, which would bring important added value.

This project is a necessary step within the modernization of courses and of the entire educational process, as it aligns to the best international practices, based on the business operations of the best performing enterprises.
