TUM PhD student Violina POPOVICI won the title of laureate of the 9th edition of the “Academic Excellence for Moldova” 2021 contest, organized by the League of Students from Moldova (LSORM).
In retrospect, Violina is glad that her longtime passion for cooking and always experimenting with new recipes has opened up a whole new world of knowledge for her through pursuing a higher education in the food industry at the Faculty of Food Technology of TUM, which integrates food chemistry, technology and nutrition. Later, she chose to do research in “Biological and chemical technologies in the food industry” – a program within the Doctoral School of Food Science. In the writing process of her doctoral thesis “Decontamination of vegetable oils of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)”, Violina is guided by the specialist in the field, prof., Dr. Rodica STURZA.
As an optimistic individual, Mrs Popovici is always open to new experiences, to adventures with friends, family reunions and trips, the latter facilitating her decision to pursue a semester in Germany, as part of an ERASMUS project, at the University of Leipzig.
For her perseverance and efforts, Violina was appreciated with the title of winner of the Gala of Students from the Republic of Moldova, within the ERASMUS category – a Project of Academic Excellence of the diaspora, for the diaspora, through which opportunities are provided for us, those at home, who seek to find out more about the success stories of some exceptional young people, who take the name of their country far into the world and motivate others to have the courage to go beyond their limits, improve and progress continuously.
