At the end of December, Angela MUNTEANU, Doctor of Arts and Culturology, assoc. prof. in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Architecture within the Technical University of Moldova, released a new editorial – the monograph „Estetica peisajului în artele plastice din Moldova” (Landscape aesthetics in the visual arts within Moldova).
Angela MUNTEANU – the author of over 45 scientific works published in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey, as well as multiple scientific-methodological and didactic publications dedicated to issues concerning the history and aesthetics of fine arts, interior design, and architecture, considers that landscapes were and will always remain a space for meditative contemplation for Moldovan painters, who, through their works, become a part of nature. While there’s plenty of instances in the literature on universal art that analyze the evolution and significance of landscapes, in Moldova, there’s little on the subject, this genre being rarely approached by art critics and historians. This fact has conditioned the author’s choice in picking the landscape as a research topic for her paper. The complex and multi-aspectual study of the evolution of the landscape, as well as the definition of its specificity, contribute to the completion of the panorama of the artistic process in Moldova.
The work is carried out with the financial support of the postdoctoral scientific project 2021-2022 Societal challenges, with the theme: Stylistic morphology in interior design, architecture, fine arts in Moldova, with the nr. 21.00208.8007.11/PD, and of the Lexon-Prim publishing house.
