The Technical University of Moldova received a visit from the Fulbright specialist, prof. Ceslav Ciobanu, who seeks to contribute to the strengthening of the mutually beneficial cooperation relations between TUM and Virginia State University (USA).
The continuous academic development of TUM is to be maintained through effective collaborations with prestigious institutions and universities, among which we note Virginia State University.
Thus, on December 13, 2021, the rector of TUM, univ. prof., Dr. Viorel BOSTAN, had a meeting with prof. Ceslav CIOBANU (Virginia State University, USA), during which the General Cooperation Agreement between TUM and Virginia State University was signed. Univ. prof., Dr. Larisa BUGAIAN, head of the Erasmus+ University Center, also participated in the discussions carried out within the meeting.
In the course of the initiated dialogue, the parties outlined the main areas of cooperation (both educational and research related), the benefits for both universities and the determination to start joint activities as soon as possible, in line with the signed agreement.
The discussions continued on December 14, 2021, after prof. Ceslav CIOBANU was invited to participate in a meeting organized by the task force group, made up of:
- Rafael CILOCI, PhD, assoc. prof., dean of the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business;
- Dumitru CIORBĂ, PhD, assoc. prof., dean, Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics;
- Rodion CIUPERCĂ, PhD, assoc. prof., head of the Continuing Education Department.
The conversation focused on determining specific areas of collaboration, identifying the necessary resources, the model of organizing activities and the measures to be taken for the next phase. The participants also highlighted the need for further development of this partnership, by taking into account the experience of both universities, current human potential, entrepreneurial capabilities, support from government institutions and international organizations.
The development activities within the cooperation project will be coordinated by prof. Ceslav CIOBANU – from USV, and Larisa BUGAIAN – from TUM.
