The TUM professors Oleg LUPAN and Vasile POSTICA are included in the TOP World Scientist and University Ranking 2021, made by AD Scientific Index – https://www.adscientificindex.com/?sort=desc&sortby=d&tit=Others&country_code=md.
According to the ranking, the young Doctor of Science Vasile POSTICA ranked 5th in the Republic of Moldova and 51668th in Europe, out of a total of 216871 scientists.
TUM professor Oleg LUPAN ranks 1st in the Republic of Moldova and 8520th in Europe, out of a total of 216871 scientists. Worldwide, he holds the 28500th position out of a total of 707636 scientists included in that ranking. In the ranking for the assessment of efficiency in scientific research during the last 5 years, the professor was placed 3792nd in Europe and 13116th in the world.
In 2018, prof. Lupan, winner of the National Award of the Republic of Moldova, was included in the TOP 1% in the world within the Highly Cited Researchers ranking.
As a result of this international competition, the visibility of the TUM teaching staff involved in the education-research process within the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics is expected to increase.
Oleg LUPAN has been working as a scientific researcher and university professor for over 28 years, being recently elected head of the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics of the Technical University of Moldova.
The activity of the professors of the MIB Department includes international collaborations with prestigious universities from the European Union, USA, Australia, India, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Russia etc., enhancing the educational process within three study programs: Applied Electronics (EA), Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies (MN) and Biomedical Engineering (IBM) for Bachelor and Master, as well as 5 other Doctoral programs focused on in-depth scientific research.
