The university lecturer Vitali MUTAF, head of the Protection and Prevention Service, Colonel in Reserve, represents the Technical University of Moldova at the European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR).
The Forum is held in Matosinhos, Portugal, on November 24-26, 2021, in a mixed (offline/online) format. The goal of the meeting is to adopt a holistic approach to disaster risk in order to mitigate the worst impacts of biological hazards as a result of climate change: earthquakes, floods, landslides, waste streams, avalanches, droughts, extreme temperatures. The EFDRR agenda also includes the examination of the problems caused by COVID-19 and the measures to counteract the effects of the pandemic.
The event is being held under the auspices of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in cooperation with the Council of Europe’s EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement, the Portuguese National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority and the European Commission.
