TUM and the CONDRUMAT Federation of Employers have signed a collaboration agreement

The importance of the Construction branch for the economy of the Republic of Moldova and, implicitly, the good training of TUM students in the fields of Architecture and Construction, were the main topics addressed during the meeting of the rector of TUM, univ. prof., Dr. Viorel BOSTAN, with the president of the Employers’ Federation of Builders, Roads Workers and Manufacturers of Construction Materials “CONDRUMAT”, Pavel CABA. The meeting was organized with the aim of signing a collaboration agreement.

The initiative to formalize the collaboration between TUM & CONDRUMAT through an agreement signed by both parties belongs to the dean of the Faculty of Constructions, Geodesy and Cadastre (FCGC), assoc. prof., Dr. Eng. Livia NISTOR-LOPATENCO. FCGC is also the faculty from which the president of FP CONDRUMAT graduated in 1978 (specialty “Construction and Civil Engineering”).

The meeting was attended by assoc. prof., Dr. Anatolie TARANENCO, head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Geodesy at FCGC, and assoc. prof., Dr. Ilie BRICICARU, dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, who highlighted several study programs within FUA and FCGC in the respective branch: 073 – Architecture and Constructions, which includes the study of art, science, design technologies, execution, maintenance of constructions and buildings, including the regulated improvement of localities both in terms of functioning and aesthetics; 0732 – Construction and Civil Engineering, including the study programs/specialties: 0732.1 Industrial and Civil Construction, 0732.2 Railways, Roads and Bridges, 0732.3 Engineering and Water Protection, 0732.4 Engineering of Heating and Gas Supply Systems, 0732.5 Fire Safety and Civil Protection Engineering. Concurrently, the study program 0732.1 – Industrial and Civil Constructions aims to ensure higher professional training for undergraduate education (Bachelor) for specialists in the field of design, research, execution, maintenance and operation of industrial, civil and agricultural construction. Moreover, FCGC and FUA are the only higher education entities in the Republic of Moldova that train engineers in the specialties listed above. The main activities that a construction engineer can carry out are the following: beginner construction engineer – site foreman, site manager, technical manager, technical expert in constructions, project verifier in constructions, design engineer / structurist.

An important element in assuring the quality of training of the University graduates is integrating the study process with the experience of government institutions in the field of Architecture, Construction and related services. Thus, both parties of the bilateral collaboration agreed to organize and conduct the relevant activities for the progress of the established objectives. As a result, TUM committed to contribute to the implementation of IT innovations in the field of Architecture and Constructions within the study process; continuous training of specialists in the field, including Master’s and Doctoral programs; promoting the processes of improvement of governmental public services at national and international level and in the educational process; involvement in joint projects in the field of Architecture and Constructions and related services; joint organization of events in the fields of activity assigned to FP CONDRUMAT.

Meanwhile, FP CONDRUMAT is committed to contributing to the improvement of the university study process; assuring the involvement of qualified staff in the university training process both in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in the fields of activity of Trimetrica; the organization of internships for students within the Federation; participation in job fairs organized by TUM and the creation of premises for further employment of graduates; supporting technical and scientific events.
