George VRAGALEV and Adrian GHERMAN, first year students at the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, launched the iStudent.md platform – a project that comes to facilitate the promotion of opportunities for young people.
“Every student knows the unpleasant feeling of missing an event due to its insufficient promotion. That’s why we decided to create a website dedicated to students, where all information about events will be easy to access and constantly updated”, says Adrian.
Through the Calendar section, iStudent.md can synchronize events in the Google calendar. At the same time, young people can confirm their participation in an event by accessing Going and logging in with their email address, through which they will later receive notifications about the chosen opportunity.
Their teacher, Elena GOGOI, PBL coordinator and curriculum development, says that this project perfectly reflects the approach of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) paradigm implemented within the “Software Engineering” study program at FCIM. Through the platform they created, George VRAGALEV and Adrian GHERMAN demonstrate that the implementation of new PBL teaching methods, based on problem solving, challenges young people to embark on projects, to discover solutions, to be dedicated, ambitious, and have a well-defined goal. The PBL method also encourages students to improve their time and conflict management skills, as well as their leadership skills, necessary in order to cope with the accelerated pace of the 21st century.
Through iStudent.md – their semestrial project, the young people aim to reach new heights and look forward to succeeding in revolutionizing the field of technologies.
