The first Senate meeting of this year, held online on the Cisco Webex platform, was dedicated to the award ceremony conducted for the professors, PhD students and UTM students who, during 2019-2020, have obtained excellent results in various didactic-scientific fields.

The laureates of the Research category were 7 professors of UTM, the 1st place diploma and the prize worth 2500 lei being awarded to the professor and scientist in solid-state physics, microelectronics and nanotechnologies, head of the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering within the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, Dr. Oleg LUPAN.

The 2nd place diplomas and prizes of 1000 lei went to the university lecturers and Doctors of Science Sergiu MAZURU – Department of Machines Construction Technology, FIMIT; Aurelia CARPOV – Architecture Department, FUA; Aliona GHENDOV-MOȘANU – Food Technology Department, FTA. The 3rd place diplomas and prizes of 500 lei went to the university lecturers and Doctors of Science Ilie NUCA – Department of Electrical Engineering, FEIE; Lilia CHIRIAC – Department of Economic Theory and Marketing, FIEB, Viorica URSU – Department of Engineering, Management and Evaluation of Real Estate, FCGC.

The nominees of the Technical Creativity category, the well-known professors-brothers, university lecturers and Doctors of Sciences Radu and Oleg CIOBANU – Departament of Machine Projecting Basics, FIMIT, were awarded 1st place diplomas and prizes worth 1500 lei. The 2nd place diploma and prize worth 700 lei went to the new Doctor in Engineering Sciences Vasile POSTICA – Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering, FCIM.

The title of Best Doctoral student of the year was assigned to the univ. lect. Nicolai ABABII – who was awarded with the 1st place diploma and the prize worth 1500 lei. The 2nd place diplomas and prizes (800 lei) were given to univ. lect. Victoria DANILA – Department of Textiles and Leather Products Design and Technology, FTP; Cristina EFREMOV – Department of Power Engineering; Irina GRUMEZA – Food and Nutrition Department. The 2nd place diplomas and prizes (500 lei) went to the PhD students Andrei PETCO – Department of Machine Projecting Basics, FIMIT; Carolina VOLOSATÎI – Department of Engineering, Management and Evaluation of Real Estate, FCGC.
