On October 5-9, 2020, at the invitation of the West University of Timișoara, the responsible for internationalization within UTM participated in the Virtual Erasmus Staff Training Week – (online) internationalization in 2020 and beyond, 7th edition.
October is traditionally the month of the Erasmus weeks within universities which are part of the Erasmus program. This year is no exception, however all events are being organized online. The new format allowed the representatives of the universities from South Africa, South America and Europe to participate in the meetings organized during the Virtual Week, addressing topics such as: internationalization and the pandemic, mobility under the new Erasmus+ program (2021-2027), trends within university internationalization, good practices in the field of internationalization. The organizers arranged a virtual visit to Timișoara and a course for studying the fundamentals of the Romanian language.
During the “Best Practices” session, Ms. Larisa Bugaian presented UTM’s experience in Double Diploma study programs – one of the results of the ELEVATE project, and during the “My University in 180 Seconds” session, Carolina Timco, head of the International Relations Service, presented the activities held within UTM. The virtual meetings of the International Week were also attended by officials from the International Relations Service – Tatiana Munteanu and Natalia Vladei, as well as internationalization officials from the Faculties.
The participants had the opportunity to communicate, exchange experiences and capitalize on new opportunities for collaboration.
