New international cooperation opportunities for UTM

On January 9th, 2020, the delegation from Dumlupınar University in Kütahya, Turkey, consisting of prof., Dr. Hasan Göçmez, vice-rector, and associate professor, Dr. Oktay Şahbaz, head of International Relations Service, visited the Technical University of Moldova.

Prof., Dr. Larisa Bugaian, vice-rector for Financial Issues and International Relations, spoke about the university, the educational and research infrastructure of UTM. The guests were surprised by the university environment and by the results achieved by UTM in recent years. Of particular interest was the participation of UTM in various international projects, such as TEMPUS, Erasmus+, H2020. There was a constructive dialogue about double diploma programs and international mobilities. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation in the academic and research fields common to both universities, including through the Mevlana program, were discussed. The lectures were attended by the associate professor, Dr. Cristina Popovici, coordinator of international programs, and the associate professor, Dr. Tatiana Munteanu, responsible of foreign students.

The guests presented the University they come from, noting that Dumlupınar University in Kütahya is a modern and dynamic university with experienced academic staff. Dumlupınar University in Kütahya consists of two main campuses located in the center of Kütahya and 10 smaller campuses with research laboratories. Following a wide exchange of opinions, it was mentioned the importance of collaboration between the two universities and the foundation of mutually advantageous relationships. After the meeting, an Erasmus+ KA 107 Academic Mobility Project for students and teachers will be prepared.
