The 12th edition of SIELMEN – International Conference on Electromechanical And Energy Systems, opened its work at Tekwill, under the auspices of the Energetics and Electrical Engineering Faculty of the Technical University of Moldova, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Energetics and Applied Informatics of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Craiova, in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering – IEEE Romania Section, Association for Promoting Engineering Education and a number of local sponsors.
From the official opening of the conference proceedings, the rector of UTM, prof. Viorel BOSTAN; dean of FEIE, dr. Victor GROPA; associate professor, dr. Ilie Nuca; professor from Craiova, dr. Sergiu IVANOV; professor from Iași, dr. Dorin Dumitru LUCACHE, and also other speakers have greeted the participants, exchanged commemorative distinctions and souvenirs, declaring themselves proud to assist this important international debate platform for the academic, industrial and research environment in the electromechanical and energy field.
Designed as a pan-Romanian educational, scientific and spiritual forum, SIELMEN has for a long time benefited from the trigonal partnership between the faculties in Chisinau, Iași and Craiova, gaining the IEEE status marked by the association with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, that requires the presented works to be in the IEEE standard template, which offers international recognition to this first-class forum in the electromechanical and energy field.
Arriving to its 12th edition, SIELMEN is attracting more and more participants from education, research, NGOs and the business environment in the electromechanical and energy field. And over 1600 scientific papers published over the years in dozens of volumes, including 130 works presented at the current edition by 270 authors from over 10 countries, on the problems related to the efficient exploitation of electromechanical and energy systems, the energy security of the state and the protection of the environment in the context of the sustainable development of humankind, demonstrate the increasing importance and the international visibility of the forum. Thus, SIELMEN has earned a well-deserved place in the top international conferences in the field, constituting a unique opportunity for Bachelor students, Master’s students, doctors, researchers and teachers to bring to people’s attention the results of their studies, investigations and conclusions in order to have an effect visible for the development of the field, but also of the technical engineering education in energetics.
The current edition also offers an expanded platform for debates of representatives of the academic, industrial and research environment on current issues in the fields of energy policy and technology, electromechanical energy conversion systems, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, electric cars performance, electronic equipment and converters, robotics and mechatronics, automotive and electric traction, industrial automation, metrology and measurement systems, management, entrepreneurship, ecology and engineering education. The 14 sections of oral sessions will be held on the second day of the conference, on October 11th, in the premises of the Energetics and Electrical Engineering Faculty of the Technical University of Moldova, starting at 9.00.
