Between June 28-30, 2023, the Technical University of Moldova hosted the 13th Conference of CASEE – The ICA Regional Network for Central and South Eastern Europe.
The Technical University of Moldova is one of the 16 members of the CASEE network, established in 2010 at the initiative of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, currently involving Life Science Universities from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Ukraine, Austria, the Republic of Moldova, and other countries. The CASEE network is an international non-profit organization governed by the provisions of Title III of the Law of 27 June 1921 on non-profit organizations, and aims to stimulate and support its member institutions in the development of a European dimension in education and research through the development of concerted actions and in engaging globally. The objectives of network include supporting the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube region, strengthening research, education and University Development in this region, developing joint research, educational and other projects (e.g. joint curricula, joint continuous educational offers, structural development, human resource development, QA, know-how-transfer, e.g. via an e-platform).
The 13th edition of the International Scientific Conference organized by the Technical University of Moldova intended to bring together the members of the CASEE network and address a topical subject: “Smart Life Sciences and Technology for Sustainable Development”.
The CASEE Conference program included visits to the Râșcani and Petricani UTM campuses. On the first day, the conference participants were guided by the rector of UTM, Prof. Viorel BOSTAN, Dr. Habil., who talked about the current trends in the development and modernization of the programs offered to students, including international ones. The guests also went on a trip to the center of the capital, which was followed by the meeting of the CASEE network Council in a working session aimed at creating a communication network within the partnership.
On June 29, the Scientific Conference gathered over 70 participants, researchers, and PhD students from different countries, including the Republic of Moldova. The event was carried out in a mixed format – both online and offline, during which a collection of scientific reports in various fields was presented, and more than 20 national and international speakers performed.
On June 30, the CASEE Network Assembly selected the university that will host the next edition of the conference and decided on the network’s budget and activity program for the next year.
The Technical University of Moldova expresses its gratitude to its international partners for the honor of organizing the 13th CASEE Conference, declaring itself open for subsequent editions.
