UTM Solutions for Agriculture Recognised at EUROINVENT

The Technical University of Moldova took part in the 18th edition of the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation, EUROINVENT 2026, held in Iași, Romania. The event brought together inventions, research projects and technical solutions from a range of fields.

At the exhibition, UTM presented a portfolio of research projects, including patents and patent applications. The solutions focused on technological processes with practical applications in industry and the wider economy.

The Technical University of Moldova received the Grand Prize of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași. The projects presented by UTM researchers were also awarded 7 gold medals and 5 silver medals.

Among the projects presented by the UTM team at EUROINVENT 2026 were:

  • DryControl Monitor
A software system for digitally monitoring the drying of agricultural and food products. The application shows drying progress in real time and allows the process to be stopped in unforeseen situations.
  • Microwave dehydration process for peaches
A technology for the controlled drying of sliced peaches. The solution can be applied in the food industry, laboratories and research centres.
  • Device for uniform air distribution in a tunnel dryer
A technical solution for drying fruit, vegetables and other agricultural products. The device helps ensure controlled air distribution inside the dryer.
  • Device for uniform air distribution in a tunnel dryer, MD 1885 Z
A mechanical system with movable blades, designed for drying plant products. The solution can be used by agricultural producers and businesses in the agricultural sector.

The projects, developed with the involvement of Mihail Balan, PhD in Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor at UTM’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, have applications in the food industry and agriculture. These solutions can help producers better control the drying process and make more effective use of agricultural products.

At UTM, research is closely connected to real-world technological processes. The projects presented at EUROINVENT show the connection between engineering education, laboratory research and practical application in industry and the wider economy. The university continues to support projects that respond to real needs in industry, agriculture and food processing.

We congratulate the authors and research teams who represented UTM at EUROINVENT 2026 and wish them continued success in their research, innovation and technology transfer activities.
